Today Africa as a whole is the center-play for the "killer" drugs and it is the Mission of Rx Africa (Ethiopia) to act as a counterweight to the invisible but deliberate massacre of poor and helpless Africans. It will do so through the following measures:

1. Esatablishing a Base in International Finance

Rx Africa (Ethiopia) is now a USA publicly traded company, operating in Wall Street with a substantial initial capital valuation, serving two mutually reinforcing portofoglios: Investments and Stock Exchanges operating at NASDAQ trading floors. Rx Africa (Ethiopia) is the first pharmaceutical company in Africa to be part of Wall Street operations.

2. Establishing an international scientific pharmaceutical cooperation.

Rx Africa (Ethiopia) has established a south-south and south-north teams of scientific institutions who will help advance Rx Africa (Ethiopia) to a class Pharma in Africa. It has signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with two Indian instituitions, Sanmour Pharma Ltd for scientific research and Aurochem Pharma for production cum research initiatives. The New York office of Rx Africa has received initial positive responses from Pfizer and Bristol Myers, two pharma giants of North America.

3. Introducing institutional and technological changes:

Modern Pharmaceuticals require effective technology and skilled man power. Far reaching changes are taking place in this regard. Chinese technology is being replaced by western and quasi-western technology. New and existing staff are being trained and retrained, some times using the help of institutions like GTZ and other internationally recruited specialists. This process will continue on an accelerated scale.

4. Moving towards International GMP standards:

Serious Pharma business requires fulfilling all international GMP standards. Rx Africa's goal is to pass WHO and USA/FDA standards of production and quality control. By doing so the intention is to enter African, European and American markets. As part of this plan Rx Africa is now building an R&D center having all the requisites of GMP compliance. This center will be ready in June 2007. Blue prints have been prepared to modernize the existing plant and also to construct a new tablet factory. These two plans will be implemented in 2007. A new Betalactum factory, currently under planning is expected to be operational by 2009. These capacity building measures provide maximum attention for introducing far reaching changes in, among others, systems application, an effective AHU and water purification systems.

5. Availing to the Market 200 New Drugs by end of 2010.

Primarily because of the unfortunate partners that Rx Africa's predecessor had, the factory was producing and availing to the market only six tablets and capsules. The fact that the company survived with only six drugs in in itself a miracle. This state of the condition will now change because a high grade R&D facility is built and installed which is staffed by internationally recruited scientists and a few local staff with experience in formulations. The target is to avail to the market about 200 drugs of various kinds, including HIV and Malaria drugs.
